Yes, they are real puppies!

They are up on their feet, just not very active just yet.

Click on the above link to watch.  The red light up "Babble Ball" is to get them use to changing lights and sounds.  There's lots more delightful noise from that little device especially at 3 a.m. if I forget to take it out.

They are turning into real puppies!

The pups are up and around now and beginning to look for distant spot to go to the bathroom.  They really do train themselves if given the right opportunity.   Now, just so they choose the right end of the x-pen!

They will be exposed to several Babble Balls which light up and make weird noises.  This weekend they will go out to the living room and then real life starts to happen.

Three weeks tomorrow.

The puppies' ears are starting to open and they will begin to react to sound.  This coming week  will be full of changes and I hope to have time to take lots of video.  EB wasn't eating so now I have been cooking salmon, fish and chicken for the dogs, and hamburgers for us. 😅  The dogs don't like hamburger.  What's wrong with that picture?

Enjoy!

Day 3

I'm setting up a spreadsheet with visiting times on it.  I'll email that in the next couple of days. If you can only come once because of distance please think about the fact that puppies at 5 weeks sleep most of the day and so you may want to think about coming later in the month.  I won't start September's schedule until I have appointment times for Guelph Vet School.

I'll keep repeating this -
Because of Parvo (this can and does kill entire litters so it is EXTREMELY important)
1. Please bring clean slippers or socks for wearing on the artificial grass inside the fence.  It's clean.
2. Leave your shoes outside the fence.
3. Wear freshly laundered clothing that has not been exposed to other dogs, even your own.
4. Leave purses etc in your car.  You may bring in your cameras.
5. I have hand sanitizer for both Parvo and Covid.
---------------
Because of Covid
1. Please wear a mask and leave it on while you are here.
2. We have hand sanitizer, but feel free to bring your own as well.
3.  We will maintain distance even if you have a mask on. We will have ours on as well so might be best to ask questions later via email or phone after the visit.

The vowel litter

Since I've had a fair number of litters of seven, I was stumped for a theme.  At first I thought this theme would be boring, but as it turns out there was a bit of controversy over W.  Who knew?  Cathy McKeown (the sire's owner) taught grade school for 25 years and insisted that W is not a vowel, but that's what I was taught in the olden days. <LOL>  Yes, it's somewhat controversial now, like the Oxford comma, but it was in the list of vowels at one time.  So the pups are Abby, Emma, Ivan, Odin, Uma, Wade and Yuri.  I post who's who later.

Visiting puppies

I have been having email issues so I'm just checking that everyone got the information that I hope you can visit starting August 13.  Once the puppies are 5 weeks old I need your help in socializing them especially in these times.  Everything will be set up in a safe manner for both the pups, and possible Parvo contamination, and for all of us and Covid.

Please feel free to call or email me about the times.

Ten days old

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYQbOAGBSJc

You will notice the puppies twitching.  That's a good thing.  Puppies are born blind, deaf and with underdeveloped nervous systems.  The twitching is a sign that their nervous system is developing.  Their eyes should be opening anytime now.  That's always exciting.

Moon - followed by the other four

Moon is going to be very pretty.

Luna

I'm going to keep one of these puppies for our breeding program and I must admit that I am already partial to Luna, but that means nothing when it becomes time to make a decision.

Ki

For whatever reason Ki's photos would not load properly.  One thing to note, all this puppies will most likely lighten a fair amount although not to the point of cream.

Silver

The nibbles out of the side of the name are thanks to Trixie.

A week old today!

They will be opening their eyes this week.

Took a video this morning, but for whatever reason, it would upload.  Will try again tomorrow.

Day 5 afternoon

All are gaining and growing almost before our eyes.

DAY 5

They are growing and gaining rapidly.  They are the so quiet, I have to check often to make sure they are still there.  In the upper left corner is Luna, at the top of the other three dogs is Ki, then left to right at the bottom is Moon, Apollo, and the easiest one to find it is Silver.
